Refund & Dispute Policy

This policy explains when fees are refundable, why fees for completed CPA work are not, and how to raise a billing concern. It is conspicuously presented before purchase and forms part of our Terms of Service.

In short: the $295 Review pays for professional CPA work that begins as soon as you purchase. Once that work has begun or been delivered, the fee is non-refundable, and you agree to contact us first rather than filing a chargeback. Limited exceptions and your non-waivable North Carolina rights are described below.

1. Summary

  • The Review fee ($295) is earned when CPA work begins and is non-refundable thereafter.
  • A Protective Claim Package ($295/year) is non-refundable once preparation of that year's claim has begun.
  • Optional add-ons (record retrieval +$95, mailing +$25) are refundable only if the related work has not yet started.
  • You agree to raise any billing concern with us before initiating a chargeback, and to allow us a reasonable opportunity to resolve it.
  • Nothing here waives rights you cannot waive under North Carolina or federal law.

2. Why these fees are earned

This is a professional service, not a stocked product. When you purchase the Review, a licensed CPA promptly begins work specifically for you — obtaining and reading your IRS account transcript, reconciling penalties and interest line-by-line, and preparing your written summary. That professional time is expended on your behalf and cannot be resold or recovered, which is why fees for work performed are non-refundable.

3. Non-refundable fees

By completing payment you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are purchasing professional services that commence immediately upon purchase.
  • Once work has begun or the deliverable has been provided, the corresponding fee is non-refundable, in whole or in part, regardless of the conclusions of the Review or the outcome of any claim.
  • A Review that finds nothing recoverable is still a completed professional service; the fee remains earned. (As stated on our main page, if your Review shows nothing recoverable, there is simply nothing further to pay — no additional claim fees.)

4. Limited exceptions

We will issue a refund where:

  • You cancel before any CPA work has begun on your order (typically within a short window after purchase), or
  • A duplicate or erroneous charge occurred, or
  • A refund is required by applicable law (see North Carolina rights below).

Where a refund applies, it is issued to the original payment method through Stripe. Optional add-ons are refundable only to the extent the related work (record retrieval or mailing) has not yet been performed.

5. No-chargeback agreement

Because these fees pay for professional work performed specifically for you, you agree not to initiate a chargeback, payment dispute, or reversal with your bank or card issuer for services that have been properly rendered. Instead, you agree to use the resolution process below first. This provision is a material part of the bargain and a condition of purchase.

If you initiate a chargeback for properly rendered services in breach of this agreement, we may present this policy, your checkout consent, and records of the work performed to contest it, and we may recover related processing fees and reasonable costs to the extent permitted by law. This provision does not apply to genuinely unauthorized transactions or to any dispute right that cannot be waived under applicable law.

6. How to raise a concern

If you have any concern about a charge or the service, contact us first at connect@kgob.com with your case number. We will acknowledge your message promptly and work in good faith to resolve it — including, where appropriate, a partial or full refund consistent with this policy. Most billing concerns are resolved quickly and directly.

7. Payments via Stripe

We process payments through Stripe. Your card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by KGOB. Your purchase and any refund are also subject to Stripe's applicable terms. Refunds approved under this policy are returned to your original payment method; processing times are determined by Stripe and your card issuer.

8. Your North Carolina rights

This policy is governed by North Carolina law. North Carolina allows a business to set its own refund terms provided they are disclosed conspicuously before purchase — which is the purpose of presenting this policy and requiring your acknowledgment at checkout. Nothing in this policy limits any right you have that cannot be waived under North Carolina or federal law, including any applicable statutory right to cancel certain transactions or protections against unauthorized charges. Where any provision conflicts with a non-waivable legal right, that right controls.
